Assalamu Alaykum,
Peace be with you.
My name is Safia, and I'm a self-taught Muslim artist from the UK. Growing up, I've been very fortunate to live in an area surrounded by greenery, and enjoy witnessing the cyclical effect that passing seasons have upon the UK environment. I've also been inclined to art for as long as I've been able to hold a pen, and now have the opportunity to incorporate two of my favourite things alongside faith in order to produce art that shows the human behind it. I hope I can inspire others to think more sustainably and gain an appreciation for the beautiful world and creatures that We have been blessed with.

Style and Inspiration
As someone who suffers from time to time with poor mental health, one thing that helps my mind find respite is the immersive surroundings of the outdoors - basking in a sunbeam, focusing on birdsong, or noticing the sunlight flickering through the leaves of trees as perfectly summarised by the Japanese word Komorebi. The shapes and colours present in nature inspire a lot of my works and serves as a personal reminder of how God's Qualities of Al-Khaliq, The Creator, and Al-Jameel, The Most Beautiful and the source of all beauty, are present in His Creation. I am also inspired by personal home comforts and try to convey a sense of either cosiness, comfort or appreciation, especially through my painted works.
My main art style is semi-realistic, often featuring either watercolour or ink pens with a variety of line widths. That said, I also enjoy experimenting with a variety of styles and materials to produce a range of pieces, demonstrating the diversity that exists under the umbrella term of Art.
